Doug Aitken: Electric Earth at MOCA Geffen

Hit up my IG to see an immense archive of art shows I’ve visited!

Doug Aitken at MOCA Geffen was an incredible and dynamic exhibit. I believe Aitken to be a true Renaissance. His talents are full spectrum. From cinema to installation to sculpture, everything was so aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. His work really touches upon your senses.

Made in LA at the Hammer Museum

My recent visit to the Made in LA exhibit. Some iPhone favorites. I will write more after I get a chance to read up on the curators and the work. I really enjoy Samara Golden’s installations as of late. Especially her musical living room at Night Gallery LA.

David Altmejd: The Flux & The Puddle

EPIC!!!!!  David Altmejd, is on his way to being the greatest artist of our time in my opinion.  He just gets more mad every time I see his work, and every time I see his work I am left breathless.  Inspiring to the core, his imagination takes me to places I’ve never been.  I first saw his work at the Whitney Biennial in NYC a number of years ago and have been following him ever since. He just makes me want to push myself.  Just see his work for yourself.  You won’t be sorry I introduced you to this amazingly talented Canadian.  Good god.

Rights to Trample On

Always making a statement.  I have been following Spain’s Luz Interuptus for a few years now.  This groups light installations come from all different innovative media’s and I love how renegade they are, art in it’s purist form of expression.  Here with “Rights to Trample On”  they definitely take a political stance for women.

In Spain it seems that the social rights acquired during many years of democracy are in danger of extinction. These rights are considered to be basic by the citizens of evolved societies which we desire to be like, are now being diminished and if we are not careful, will eventually disappear through maneuvers of distraction, which do not deceive almost anyone, who does not want to be fooled.

Not happy with taking away the rights of workers, of the citizens, with reducing education and health care to a minimum and taxes at historical highs, now they are trying to make decisions on the fundamental rights of womenreducing the possibilities de abortion to virtually non-existent.
